We are running another tournament on BBO on Monday 4 March for the Scottish Juniors, all Berwick Club players, members of the Acol at BBO club and any of our BBO friends who wish to play. The ten-board tournament will start at 1900 GMT (2000 CET, 1400 EST) and be matchpoints scoring.
Please, young and old, come along and play if you are free.
This week JunNPinder will be directing the tournament.
We are hoping that this will become a weekly affair with a good core of regular players. When I am not playing live bridge I also hope to go through some of the hands afterwards for those that are interested.
To play you need to register for the tournament before it starts. This requires that you and your partner are both online, one to register and the other to accept the invitation. Once you are registered you will be taken automatically to the tournament when it starts, there is nothing else you need to do.
If you have problems registering, chat to JunNPinder online. You will need to be marked as a friend of his or be from the UK. If it says that your entry is blocked, just send Jun a chat and he will unblock you and you will be able to register.
You can register up to an hour before the tournament. There is no need to stay online after registration as long as you are online when the tournament starts!
If you do not have a partner, register at the Partnership Desk and see if there is anyone there that you'd like to play with.
Registering
If you use the older Windows program for BBO, then the Acol at BBO Club provides excellent instructions on how to register for a tournament and the Partnership Desk.
If you use the newer web client, using a browser, then the instructions are in the BBO Help for tournaments.
I recommend using the newer web client. You can see the 'List all tournaments' when you login and then select the Free Tournaments list, in which the SBU JUNIORS tournament will be listed in the hour before it starts. Click on the appropriate Register button and then you will be prompted for your partner's name or you can open the Partnership Desk.
