Berwick A's first match in the top division for four years was against Dundas, one of the teams with title aspirations. Hopes were not high and the team performed to that level as we fell to a heavy defeat. Although it was a big win for Dundas I think they'll have to improve considerably if they want to challenge the top teams, and Berwick will need to find their form in the matches that really matter.

The play at our table can only be described as atrocious and very little is fit for broadcasting. Our opponents failed to get through the first round of the trials this season and they brought this form into the match as they missed numerous opportunities for a better score. Perhaps it was our play that caused a lack of concentration and overconfidence, because we were happily giving them gift after gift. From what I heard things were not much better at the other tables.
