The draw for the first round of the Gold Cup has been announced. We have a bye, always good news with everyone in the team involved in trials or the English Premier League over this period.
The overall entry for the event is 173 teams, two more than last year. There seem to be sixteen teams based in Scotland, two fewer than last year, but there has been one emigration and a number of team changes. Most significant is the joining of the two seeds from last year with the combination being the only local seed - SHORT (Brian Short, Dave Walker, Iain Sime, John Matheson, Alan Goodman, John Murdoch).
We are now a team of six: Anne, Sheila, Alex and I joined by Mike and Miro. Finding dates when we are all available will be a challenge but the aim is to play everyone when possible.
